What is Rich up to?

11 September 2003

Everyone!! At long last, I've managed to put some of my photos up on my website! So you can share in the joys and the joys (I'm sorry, but there hasn't been a trial since April) of skiing in Canada, swimming in Spain, sweating in Italy and sashaying in a kilt in Ulster. Just go to the page with all my photos on, and you'll see a number of new buttons that lead to exciting bite-size slide shows - nice.

On the travelling front, I have spent an action-packed weekend partying and living it up around Greater London:

Friday night was Jeremy's 30th birthday bash in Chalk Farm. He and his brother graced us all with the first public performance of their new four-piece jazz band, and I have to say it was mighty fine! The party was swinging into the night, thanks primarily to fabulous guests but also in large measure (ouch!) to understanding publicans.

Saturday night was Kevin & Cath's time of celebration for their engagement in Cockfosters. What a rip-roaring party that was! Many a bottle of liquor was consumed. And it was lovely to see Ann & Colin and Julie & Fred again after a long time.

Sunday afternoon was kind enough to let us have a barcecue in Selena's garden in Slough. The kids - Michaela's, Rosanne's and Diane's - enjoyed themselves immensely, even if they did give the adults a heart attack every time they ran past the mini-barbie. The food was a triumph (as always when Selena's in charge) and we even made it out for a walk in the sunshine. But perhaps the highlight was rolling down the hill with the littluns and my big sis!

Monday evening saw my reunion with my brother & family. I haven't seen them for quite some time! And now even little Livi is all grown up in her school uniform... We had a lovely dinner thanks to Kate, and I had time to go through all my post. I was pleased to see more films had been developed - and you can enjoy them too now!

Since Tuesday afternoon I've been in Leamington, using Simon's PC to update my website. Many many thanks to Simon for his patience in the face of my IT-aversion. It was great to see a load of old PG colleagues for lunch on Tuesday. But hearing the gossip from the office was, sad to say, enough for me to thank my lucky stars once more that I had the sense to leave!

Right, best pack now. I'm off to Ireland tomorrow morning for Wedding Number Four. Should be great craic.
